Headliner: The Rolling Stones

Immediately after releasing their Some Girls album, The Rolling Stones launched a U-S tour in June of 1978.  The tour featured a minimal stage design compared to some of their previous tours. The emphasis was solely on their music.

This tour is widely regarded as one of the stone’s greatest- simply because of the basic approach.  This week, we’ll listen to a concert recorded on this tour- it was captured live at the Will Rogers Memorial Coliseum in Fort Worth, Texas, on July 18^th, 1978.

Headliner: Fleetwood Mac

Here’s some good news- they’ll definitely be touring this year.  Mick Fleetwood has confirmed it, but the band isn’t nailing down any dates just yet.  He went on to say that once they start touring, they’ll probably keep going for quite a while.  Watch for announcements of tour dates this spring and summer.  This week, we’ll listen to a legendary performance captured live at the Fleet Center in Boston on September 23^rd, 2003. It’s the classic lineup of Fleetwood Mac headlining this week’s Live in Concert!

This is a truly special performance.  It’s a rite of passage of sorts- you’re going to hear u2 take the final step in their evolution to become rock legends.  After releasing The Joshua Tree in 1987, U2 was reaching their full potential.  The tour that followed saw them graduate from theaters and arenas, to massive football stadiums. In some places they were performing to more than 100,000 people at a time.   This concert was recorded live at The Hippodrome in Paris, France on the 4^th of July, 1987.  It’s U2 headlining this week’s Live in Concert!
